SUMMARY:Eureka Clusters CELTIC-NEXT & Xecs present at the EuCNC - 6&9 June 2023 in Gothenberg\, Sweden
DESCRIPTION:This coming 6-9 June in Gothenburg\, Sweden\, CELTIC-NEXT and Xecs\, EUREKA clusters will present at the EuCNC & 6G Summit\, the Eureka Network industry-driven clusters programme and the advantages shared between the complementary clusters communities! \nThe H0:012 booth will be where their directors will be available to discuss the possibilities of receiving public funding on an international scale! Moreover\, the convey session will be the occasion to discover how the two clusters help European projects to their end to keep developing their results towards higher TRLs\, and reach stronger and faster to the market. \nThe two clusters are looking forward to welcoming you at booth H0:012 and discussing your ideas and funding opportunities! \nPresent: \n\nCELTIC-NEXT\, Xavier Priem\, Director\nXecs\, Nadja Rohrbach\, Director\nEureka Clusters Programme\, TBC\n\nA special session will also be organised Wednesday\, 7 June 2023\, 16:00-17:30\, Room G4: “Bridging the gap to exploitation and deployment” \n  \n\nSession Chair:\n\nDavid Kennedy (Eurescom\, DE )\n\nThe Horizon 2020 and the now the Horizon Europe framework programmes have been fostering RD&I initiatives for many years now.\nHowever\, there are still many emerging results or deployment opportunities that are not making it to market for commercial exploitation because there is a need for more support post research projects\, or to stimulate deployment where the market forces are not strong enough to ensure deployment without support or where the risk of further developments is still too high for private investments only. In many cases there still is a significant gap between public funding support and when the private funding can and will take over. This session explores what support is available and how far support can go while still being precompetitive. \n  \nMore information at https://www.eucnc.eu/programme/special-sessions/convened-session-5/

SUMMARY:SENDATE Closing Event in Kista\, Sweden
DESCRIPTION:  \nThe flagship project for secure networking of data centers in Europe\nToday\, large data centers are the most important hubs of the Internet. They have a huge computing power and are located far away from the customer. This leads to low flexibility\, high traffic in the network\, long delays and security concerns. The consequences are that more convergence of telecommunication networks and IT is needed and that data centers are more distributed and are located closer to the customers. The strategic goal of the 3 year CELTIC-NEXT project SENDATE is to pave the way to this new network topology through de-localized and securely connected date centers. Therefore\, the SENDATE project is seen as the European answer for a secure\, flexible and efficient control of data flows in the Internet. \nLink to the Agenda \nOfficials from the Public Authorities: \nDarja Isaksson\, Vinnova \nOle Hitzemann\, BMBF \nOuti Keski-Äij\, Business Finland \nSENDATE Success Stories: \nPLANETS + TANDEM\, Julie Byrne\, Nokia Bell Labs \nEXTEND\, Andreas Johnsson\, Ericsson \nFICUS\, Bernd Sommerkorn-Krombholz\, Coriant R&D GmbH \nSecure DCI\, Jörg-Peter Elbers\, ADVA \nHorizontals\, Emmanuel Dotaro\, Thales \nSENDATE\, Secure Networking for a Data Centre Cloud in Europe\, is a 70 million euro public-private partnership project comprising 83 companies\, research organizations\, and universities from Germany\, France\, Finland\, and Sweden. The project runs from April 2016 to May 2019 under CELTIC-NEXT\, the EUREKA Cluster for a Smart Connected World\, and is partly publicly funded by the research ministries/ agencies BMBF (Germany)\, DGE (France)\, TEKES (Finland)\, and VINNOVA (Sweden). \n \n

SUMMARY:SENDATE Kick-Off Event in Berlin
DESCRIPTION:New flagship project for secure networking of data centres in Europe\nToday\, large data centres are the most important control points of the Internet. They have a huge computing power and are located far away from the customer. This leads to low flexibility\, high traffic in the network\, long delays and security concerns. The consequence is that more convergence of telecommunication networks and IT is needed\, and data centres must be located closer to the customers. The goal of the 3 year CELTIC-NEXT project SENDATE is to pave the way to this new network topology through delocalised and securely connected date centres.\nThe kick-off event of this important European flagship project took place in Berlin on 17 October 2016. Participants included high level representatives from industry and public funding organisations. The participants discussed how SENDATE will contribute to achieving the important goal of more secure data centres in Europe.\nThe project consortium also presented their ambitions and show how European data centres will be connected through enhanced transport networks and improved networking concepts that will results in reinforced overall security. This project is seen as the European answer for better control of data flows and new security concepts in the internet.\nSENDATE\, Secure Networking for a Data Centre Cloud in Europe\, is a 70 million euro public-private partnership project comprising 93 companies\, research organisations\, and universities from Germany\, France\, Finland\, Norway and Sweden. \nPresentations:\nSENDATE Kick Off Event in Berlin \nWelcome Session PAs:\nTekes Finland\, Raine Hermans\nVINNOVA Sweden\, Jon Simonsson \nPresentations of SENDATE sub-projects:\nSENDATE-TANDEM and SENDATE-PLANETS\, Sigurd Schuster\, NOKIA\nSENDATE-Secure DCI\, Dr. Jörg-Peter Elber\, ADVA\nSENDATE-FICUS\, Bernd Sommerkorn-Krombholz\, Coriant\nSENDATE-EXTEND\, Adj.
