The consequences are that more convergence of telecommunication networks and IT is needed and that data centers are more distributed and are located closer to the customers. The strategic goal of the 3 year CELTIC-NEXT project SENDATE is to pave the way to this new network topology through de-localized and securely connected date centers. Therefore\, the SENDATE project is seen as the European answer for a secure\, flexible and efficient control of data flows in the Internet. \nLink to the Agenda \nLink to BMBF News release \nOfficials from the Public Authorities: \nHeikki Uusi-Honko\, Tekes\, Finland \nAndreas Aurelius\, VINNOVA\, Sweden \nPresentations of SENDATE project partners\, high level representatives of companies: Nokia\, ADVA\, Coriant and Ericsson: \nJean-Luc Beylat\, Nokia Bell Labs France \nJörg-Peter Elbers\, ADVA – Advanced Technology \nHarald Bock\, Coriant GmbH \nElena Fersman\, Ericsson Research \nPhotos from the Event: \nSENDATE MT Event\nDemos in the Foyer\nDinner on the Seine \nSENDATE\, Secure Networking for a Data Centre Cloud in Europe\, is a 70 million euro public-private partnership project comprising 83 companies\, research organizations\, and universities from Germany\, France\, Finland\, and Sweden. SUMMARY:SENDATE Kick-Off Event in Berlin
DESCRIPTION:New flagship project for secure networking of data centres in Europe\nToday\, large data centres are the most important control points of the Internet. They have a huge computing power and are located far away from the customer. This leads to low flexibility\, high traffic in the network\, long delays and security concerns. The consequence is that more convergence of telecommunication networks and IT is needed\, and data centres must be located closer to the customers. The goal of the 3 year CELTIC-NEXT project SENDATE is to pave the way to this new network topology through delocalised and securely connected date centres. \nThe kick-off event of this important European flagship project took place in Berlin on 17 October 2016. Participants included high level representatives from industry and public funding organisations. The participants discussed how SENDATE will contribute to achieving the important goal of more secure data centres in Europe. \nThe project consortium also presented their ambitions and show how European data centres will be connected through enhanced transport networks and improved networking concepts that will results in reinforced overall security.
The goal of the 3 year CELTIC-NEXT project SENDATE is to pave the way to this new network topology through delocalised and securely connected date centres.\nThe kick-off event of this important European flagship project took place in Berlin on 17 October 2016. Participants included high level representatives from industry and public funding organisations. The participants discussed how SENDATE will contribute to achieving the important goal of more secure data centres in Europe.\nThe project consortium also presented their ambitions and show how European data centres will be connected through enhanced transport networks and improved networking concepts that will results in reinforced overall security. This project is seen as the European answer for better control of data flows and new security concepts in the internet.\nSENDATE\, Secure Networking for a Data Centre Cloud in Europe\, is a 70 million euro public-private partnership project comprising 93 companies\, research organisations\, and universities from Germany\, France\, Finland\, Norway and Sweden. SUMMARY:SASER Closing Event
DESCRIPTION:The CELTIC-NEXT Flagship Project SASER (Safe and Secure European Routing) is coming to its finalisation at the end of the year.\nTo celebrate the many results and commercial and societal impacts of this important project\, there is a closing ceremony at the project leader’s premises at Alcatel-Lucent in Stuttgart. \nParticipation in this event is by invitation only \nDate: 26 November 2015\nVenue: Alcatel-Lucent Stuttgart\, Germany \nAbout SASER: \nThe Internet has become an indispensable part of the infrastructure for most of the aspects of daily life and has developed to a fundamental infrastructure for Europe. The uninterrupted\, reliable and secure access to the Internet is seen as a basic right for all citizens and a significant economical factor. The current infrastructure lacks many of those features which are obviously associated with a trusted\, safe and secure communication medium. The number of attacks on Internet-connected systems are growing and the attacks have become more serious and more technically complex than in the past. \nThe SASER project has provided the scientific\, technical\, and technological concepts and solutions for secure transport networks in the 2020 time frame.\nA European solution envisaged by SASER is based on the strengths and expertise in security and high-speed optical transport networks to overcome the bottlenecks and vulnerabilities of today’s electronic all-IP based infrastructure. The SASER consortium combines leading equipment providers\, network operators\, universities and research institutions and offers the prerequisites for a successful development\, implementation and standardisation of the proposed solutions. \nSASER Website
