Abstract
Operating drones is a complex task that requires high technical and regulatory knowledge. Projects usually resort to flight operators to handle missions, but their cost is high, their latency is low (time from request to actual operation) and they are geographically fragmented, requiring coordination of multiple providers to be able to attend wide areas. Some of these problems may be solved by acquiring a huge number of drones, hiring specialized staff and geographically distributing them. However the cost is prohibitively high for most applications.
DRONaaS (Drones as a Service) is a cloud platform designed to facilitate and automate the operation of drones. It enables projects to automatically perform drone operations anywhere and pay just for what they use. Projects may easily integrate the service via an API. LLM agents assist them to define how drones will be used, even with low technical or regulatory knowledge. The platform automatically gets all the necessary permissions from national authorities across multiple countries, defeating the complexity of regulations.
DRONaaS is designed from the ground up to globally outsource drone operations to multiple certified parties. It normalises complex operations and makes all players seamlessly operate together. DRONaaS excels at deploying drone applications globally and at scale without front investment.
DRONaaS handles mission definition, planning, operations, communications, reporting, regulations, security, community, certification, logistics and payments. It is well suited to enhance multiple industries, covering services like delivery, surveillance, mobility, networking, searching, scanning, monitoring, treatment, etc. Any task available to current and future drones, on ground, air or water, can be instrumented to enable new business models that only pay for the actual usage they make.
